IMPORTANT NOTE: This drill has been updated to the 2026 NEC. The state of Colorado is now using the 2026 NEC for the Journeyman Wireman's Exam. There may be some references to Article 220 that have been missed in the update , The new Article is 120 and the subsections have not changed.
Use this drill frequently to keep you practiced at your calculations. I will add to them weekly so that there are plenty of questions to work. If you have not learned how to do a calculation yet, just skip it and ask about it when you get a chance. Remember doing them frequently will make your journeyman's test a breeze because you will remember the steps and just knock out your calculations.
Each time you do the drill it will randomize questions and pull in new ones.
Doing this drill every other week is an expectation for all Freshman Apprentices starting in their second semester and all Sophomore apprentices starting at the beginning of the year. Once you have finished second year of apprenticeship, you will advance to the Calculations Drill for Juniors and Seniors and will be expected to complete that drill every other week until you obtain your Journeyman Wireman's License.
